122 mm ILLUMINATING ROUND WITH I-122-F-VMZ & I-122-R-VMZ ILLUMINATING PROJECTILE
It is designed for sudden illumination of separate targets and areas occupied by the enemy, during combat at night or under reduced visibility. The rounds are also used for illumination of objects which are attacked by tanks or motorized infantry, for line-of-march indication, or as light reference points and signalling means.
