The 60 mm round with a HE-FRAG mortar bomb is intended to defeat through its HE-FRAG actionenemy troops, unarmouredand lightly armoured vehicles in a radius of up to 10 m upon firing to a maximum range under the following conditions of operational use:

The round shall function upon firing from the Commando, M2, M19, M224, M224A1, M60-16, M6-111 mortarsunder conditions of rain, snow, dustiness; after storage in the open, under shelter, on unheated and heated premises; after transportation by road, rail, sea, and airborne landing.
